Ridgeland Harvest
Overview
Ridgeland Harvest is a wonderful certified organic farm located in Viroqua Wisconsin owned by two friends of mine, Cate and Mat Irsfeld-Eddy. They have been in business for 8 years and came to me to build them a website.
I used Wordpress as the backend for the site to handle the content and provide an easy way for Cate or Mat to edit text and information on their site. On the home page I set the site up with an integrated blog with the most recent posts listed so viewers can see whats happening. I also integrated a photo gallery, and newsletter management.
Another nice touch is a seasonally rotating panorama image for their site banner. At every big season change of the year the image will change to one that is appropriate for the current season. This was done by first taking the pictures and splicing them together in Photoshop to make the panoramic images. Then with a little PHP logic to tell what time of the year it is we had the seasonal image rotator in place.

Technical Details

- CSS/XHTML - Basic styles and markup used to format dynamic text and layout within the site.
