Debra Krebs Watercolor Art
Overview
Debra Krebs is a unique and inspiring watercolor artist in Wisconsin. Debra paints colorful nature scenes, animals and family and sells originals, prints and greeting cards for many occasions. Debra contacted me to design her a website that will showcase her work, allow purchasing online and display upcoming events and art shows.
Wordpress is used as the backend for the site to handle the content and provide an easy way for Debra to edit text, art shows and events and products on her site. On every page is an Ajax powered event calendar that highlights dates where there are events. Clicking on a date displays the details of that event. In the upper right hand corner is a flash powered image slideshow of some of her pieces.
The shopping area of the site is powered by WP eCommerce and showcases Debra’ work nicely in a grid thumbnail layout. Clicking on a thumbnail displays the details of that particular piece and has options for purchasing via PayPal.

- Wordpress Backend - Handle the content management such as text, images, products, statistics and more.
- PHP - Created some custom widgets for Wordpress and other miscellaneous scripting.
- CSS/XHTML - Basic styles and markup used to format dynamic text and layout within the site.
- Graphic Design - Designed graphics for layout of site using existing logo and other images.
