911 Classifieds – Public Safety Classifieds

Overview

Carlo Peterson of seven/FOUR LLC. contacted me with the proposal to design and develop a classifieds website for public safety personnel. The site was to offer private sale classifieds ads to law enforcement, fire/rescue, and emergency medical systems personnel at a nationwide level.

Carlo decided upon 68 Classifieds as the software to use for the site. 68 Classifieds provided the foundation for allowing registered users to post ads and pictures along with their ads, over a secure server, and then process payment through Carlo’ payment provider. I was commissioned to coordinate the site hosting and configuration, software install and customization. Over the period of 2 months, Carlo and I worked together to come up with an appealing design and a functional, cross-browser website.

Technical Details

• 68 Classifieds Backend – Handles the content management such as ad posting, user management, page content, system settings and more.
• PHP – Used to customize the functionality of the website.
• CSS/XHTML – Used for layout, styling and markup within the site.
• Graphic Design – Designed graphics for the layout of the site using a custom made logo and other images.
