If you’re viewing the site on an iPhone or iPad you may have noticed the special layout because my site is responsive. That means the layout and design responds to the size of the device you are viewing it on.

I typically use one of two plugins: PHPEnkoder and more recently Email Encoder Bundle.

Both plugins work well out of the box and can automatically encode/encrypt emails on your WordPress website, hiding them from spam bots looking to harvest emails.

I used PHPEnkoder for a long time and it works great. The one thing that I really like that Email Encoder Bundle does better is it will automatically encode emails in sidebar widgets whereas PHPEnkoder will not without some finagling. This is very helpful because often times you want to have an email in a sidebar widget. Email Encoder Bundle also allows you to select different encoding techniques and scans comments and RSS feeds as well. Both plugins provide shortcodes and functions to encode emails in templates which is very useful if you’re working with custom data.

As of now Email Encoder Bundle is my go to encoding plugin of choice for WordPress. Let me know what yours is in the comments.
